How would you fund the NHS?

Research from IFS and the Health Foundation projects a large funding gap in the NHS over the next 15 years.

Depending on whether you keep the NHS providing the level of service it does today or implement some improvements (meeting waiting list targets, and tackling some of the underfunding in mental health services for example) we estimate that the government will need to spend an extra 1.6% to 2.6% of national income more on the NHS by 2033–34. That’s equivalent to between £34 billion and £56 billion in today’s terms.
